Dear Fellow Golfers,
What I like most about being a golfer is playing with old friends, meeting new friends and trying different courses. I regularly play in mixed tournaments but it is hard to find any specifically for lady golfers.
My goal in setting up ALG is to make it easier for amateur lady golfers throughout the United Kingdom to get the best out of their sport.
Two years spent running competitions for our ladies' golf section gave me the inspiration to make the same sort of competitions available to lady golfers across the UK - just like one big club.
Through our Birdie Tree and Par Ladder competitions you can compete against fellow golfers from all over the country without leaving your own golf club.
2006 saw the launch of our Singles and Pairs Tournaments which proved to be very popular. Thirty eight lady golfers gathered at The Belfry to contest the Grand Final.
We also bring you the best of the web for women golfers - clothing, equipment, health and fitness, travel, tips and coaching, etc.
Our golf courses section shows details of courses in the UK, including course cards - red tees, plus opens, coffee mornings and bridge days.
As part of our commitment to the future, we will be donating a proportion of the tournament income to those organisations that encourage girls to take up golf. In 2006 we dontated £384 to the ELGA Trust.
So, please join in and have fun!
