Format
18 Hole Stableford off 3/4 handicap for all games.
In round one only, players will play both home and away - 36 Holes - with both scores counting towards a total score.
In the event of a tie, countback will take place on the final 9, 6, 3 and 1 (of both games in the first round). If a match is started from the 10th Hole, countback will be on the back nine of the card.
Competitors
Must have a current handicap issued by a CONGU affiliated golf club.
Competitors must be prepared to offer both weekday and weekend days for matches.
Must be over 18 years of age on 1st May 2007.
Entering the tournament
Players can enter online or post/fax an entry form to the organisers.
Closing date for entries is 15th April 2007.
Geographical proximity
ALG will strive when making the draw to minimise the travel required.
Competitors should be prepared to travel up to 50 miles from their own club in order to play an away match.
Playing matches
On receipt of your match details, please contact your opponents to arrange your matches.
Green fees will be shared - in the first round play will be both home and away - subsequent rounds will be played on a "neutral" course.
Current handicap certificates must be produced at each match. If a handicap certificate is not produced at the match the player must fax a copy of the certificate to the organisers within 48 hours of completion of the match.
All matches must be played by the play by date - extensions will not be given.
If a match is not played, the organisers will decide the outcome based on the circumstances.
Should a player fail to turn up for an arranged match, the match will be forfeit except in exceptional circumstances.
Should a player arrive more than 10 minutes after her arranged tee time, the match will be forfeit except in exceptional circumstances.
If a match has to be abandoned due to the course becoming unfit to play, the match will resume from the point where the match was abandoned.
Should a dispute or disagreement arise between competitors, they should seek to find resolution by reference to ALG. ALG's decison will be final and binding.
Buggies and trolley pullers
Buggies may not be used unless medical dispensation has been given by the organisers.
ALG recommends that players take lady friend with them to pull their trolley but this person must not go on the green, give advice on line, assist with club selection or otherwise assist the player in any way.
After the match
The winning player of each match should enter the result on the website, or call the organisers.
The signed match result should be sent to the organisers either by fax or post.
Please ensure that ALG receives your result on or before the play by date.
The winner will be sent the details for the next round.
In the first round only, the losing player will be entered into the Plate tournament.
Liability
The Organisers cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury or claim incurred or suffered while participating in an ALG-staged event.
Changes to these Rules
The Organisers reserve the right to change the format and rules of this competition at any time.
